Liberty Ridge Farm in the Albany Capital Region is proud to announce a new Fall Attraction for the 2017 season! In honor of National Cow Appreciation Day, Meet Daisy the Incredible Milking Cow!
I’m sure you know that cows “MOO” – so of course Daisy will MOO! Not only that, Daisy loves to talk about herself. Stop by her exhibit in the Discovery Barn to listen to her chat about how much milk she produces, how Holstein cows came to America, how much food she eats, and other fun facts!
Oh and did we mention – you can Milk her too?
Daisy is excited to share how to milk a cow with all of the Liberty Ridge Farm visitors this Fall!
Daisy, the Incredible Milking Cow is a life-size Holstein. Holsteins are leaders in dairy production. When mature, they are the largest breed of US cattle. A mature Holstein can weigh up to 1500 pounds!
Daisy is a wonderful resource to teach children about the relationship between dairy, agriculture, and everyday life. Food doesn’t just come from the grocery store! Also in the Discovery Barn is information about different food groups – such as fruits, vegetables, beef, and poultry! See how these food groups come together to create a well-balanced meal, following the USDA MyPlate guidelines.
Daisy is not the only Fall Attraction – be sure to come and this Fall and check out our other Fall Activities! Liberty Ridge Farm near Saratoga Springs has fun and educational things to do for the entire family!
Opening day is September 16th. The Farm will be open on weekends for Capital Region Fall Family Fun, weekdays for Albany area Field Trip groups, and Friday and Saturday nights for the Haunted Attractions – Nightmares.
