Catering Staff Job Description

Summary of Position

A variety of functions are held a Liberty Ridge Farm. Some are held in the Gifford Barn’s rustic banquet room with seating for 150 guests.  Larger parties are held in the Event Tent.  Corporate events and other parties may be held in various places on the Farm, such as in the Barnyard during the off-season.  We are looking for part-time, year-round special event catering staff members who will provide a friendly, positive attitude and timely service to create a memorable experience for all of our guests.


Set up for event, carry trays, serve guests, and clean up at the event’s conclusion.

Set up can include, but is not limited to:

  • Table placement and floor plan
  • Placing table cloths and place settings, centerpieces
  • Setting up and taking down hors d’oeuvre stations, buffets, and dessert stations

Servers are responsible for accommodating all guests at a function while circulating the event area.

Anticipate guests’ needs and respond in a polite manor to their requests.

Follow strict event itineraries to ensure smooth transitions and overall running of events.

Clear tables of dishes and glasses in a timely manner.

Maintain overall cleanliness in all areas of the venue, including but not limited to the buffet, service stations, seating areas, and bathrooms.
