Liberty Ridge Farm’s Cornfield Maze spans over 11 acres and features a passport game to challenge maze goers with trivia and provides hints and clues to assist in navigating the maze. Liberty Ridge Farm commences their fall festival jamboree September 22nd as the Schaghticoke fair departs the Capital Region. This year the 13th harvest season is jam packed with carnival style shows, agricultural adventures, food delights, themed weekends and much more. Well this year is a special year for sure for Liberty Ridge Farm.  With our 2011 Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze and our All New Jumping Pillow, the Albany Saratoga Capital District has only a 30 minute drive to share a farmtastic celebration during this harvest season.  Have you ever seen a Jumping Pillow ?  Odds are if your kids see it, they will want to jump again and again.  This special attraction has some added benefits to it, you as a parent can jump and enjoy this activity together with your child.  We hear belly laughs time and again as parents and child jump their ways into each others hearts.  Liberty Ridge Farm has some super celebrations planned for the 2011 Fall Season  check out our events calendar. In a special outreach titled Space Farm 7, Liberty Ridge Farm is among 7 of the nation’s top agritourism farms that are joining together in collaboration with NASA to celebrate and honor the U.S. space program this fall. Each farm has planted corn mazes, an increasingly popular phenomenon of elaborate crop circle-type creations that challenge and delight visitors. The Space Farm 7 corn mazes will feature designs celebrating NASA’s achievements and progress in space.

The objective of this outreach project is to expose guests to NASA space exploration and educate children across the United States. This year NASA celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first American in space, the 30th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle mission and the 20th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope’s deployment in space. NASA recently completed construction of the International Space Station and will conclude the Space Shuttle Program now that the final shuttle launch and return was successful. The Space Farm 7 outreach is a timely once in a lifetime coordinated celebration.

NASA has ten regional research centers located in the United States, each of which has a different responsibility. The individual members of the Space Farm 7 have been paired up with their local space center in order to highlight that region’s contribution to NASA. Liberty Ridge Farm in New York will feature achievements of the NASA Hubble Space Telescope Program and is paired up with Goddard Space Flight Center out of Maryland.

Liberty Ridge Farm and the Space Farm 7 will have games and activities in the mazes will reinforce the educational missions of the Space Program so maze-goers can learn and have fun at the same time. This year a very special celebration is taking place at Liberty Ridge with the Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze. The corn maze features the Hubble Telescope and the Space Shuttle flying amongst cosmic stars. The 2011 season has something for families with little ones or families with kids that are grown up, getting lost amongst the stars together is a once in a lifetime Liberty Ridge & NASA experience.

Liberty Ridge Farm Presents at National MAiZE Conference

Albany, NY — Mar 07, 2011 /  – The Capital Region’s premier agritourism destination, was a presenter at the national MAiZE conference held February 24th — 27th  in Raleigh, North Carolina.
“We were honored to be chosen as a presenter at the national MAiZE conference,” said Cynthia Gifford, Owner of Liberty Ridge Farm. “Over 350 attendees were at the conference representing just about every state in the union.”
For over 11 years the MAiZE organization has held conferences and provided information to farms throughout the United States to help them promote their corn mazes and argritourism business’
“We were asked to present to the conferences attendees about the necessity of providing food to your guest. At Liberty Ridge Farm we are very proud of the quality of the food that we provide to our guests which is all prepared at our farm and is of the best quality,” said Gifford.

Liberty Ridge Farm Offers Campers A Day of Fun and Adventure!

Campers experience an awesome time navigating the Capital Region’s largest corn maze and engaging in Brad’s Barnyard activities, full of fun and learning.
Liberty Ridge Farm‘s field trip is both educational and fun,” said Cynthia Gifford, Owner Liberty Ridge Farm. “In addition to fun in the area’s largest corn maze, kids can experience over 30 educational and fun adventures in Brad’s Barnyard Activities. Not far from anywhere in the Capital Region, Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke is the perfect place to grow imaginations.”
Farm Adventures begin July 20th and go through September 2nd and are offered every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Groups enjoy three hours on the farm at $8.50 per camper, with no admission charge for staff. A farm fresh option is picking ½ pint of the freshest blueberries to take home for additional $2.
Campers can bring their own bagged lunch, or we offer our farm lunch for an additional $5. TheFarm Hand Lunch includes a hot dog, bag of chips, a bottle of water and our own freshly picked blueberries, served family style. Lunch is served at the “Pitch Fork” (our outdoor kitchen) and at the time specified when placing the order. Picnic tables and shaded areas are available for everyone to enjoy their lunches.
