The change in the weather has promoted an area business to offer “warm up specials” and a reduction on admission price in an effort to reward and inspire people to make the trek to the farm. Liberty Ridge Farm is amidst the end of their season with only 5 days left in their popular fall festival that includes a barn yard of over 55 acres that is filled with old fashioned games, shows and hands on activities. The farm is now offering a reduction to their admission price and a $5 upgrade that includes a plus pass wrist band, that is good for Unlimited Jumping Pillow and Cow Train rides, for a new price that reflects a savings of $7 from their standard price. Liberty Ridge Farm paired up with NASA and Goddard Space Flight Center in Space Farm 7 Outreach Program

In a special outreach titled Space Farm 7, Liberty Ridge Farm is among 7 of the nation’s top agritourism farms that are joining together in collaboration with NASA to celebrate and honor the U.S. space program this fall. Each farm has planted corn mazes, an increasingly popular phenomenon of elaborate crop circle-type creations that challenge and delight visitors. The Space Farm 7 corn mazes will feature designs celebrating NASA’s achievements and progress in space.

The objective of this outreach project is to expose guests to NASA space exploration and educate children across the United States. This year NASA celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first American in space, the 30th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle mission and the 20th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope’s deployment in space. NASA recently completed construction of the International Space Station and will conclude the Space Shuttle Program now that the final shuttle launch and return was successful. The Space Farm 7 outreach is a timely once in a lifetime coordinated celebration.

NASA has ten regional research centers located in the United States, each of which has a different responsibility. The individual members of the Space Farm 7 have been paired up with their local space center in order to highlight that region’s contribution to NASA. Liberty Ridge Farm in New York will feature achievements of the NASA Hubble Space Telescope Program and is paired up with Goddard Space Flight Center out of Maryland.

Liberty Ridge Farm and the Space Farm 7 will have games and activities in the mazes will reinforce the educational missions of the Space Program so maze-goers can learn and have fun at the same time. This year a very special celebration is taking place at Liberty Ridge with the Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze. The corn maze features the Hubble Telescope and the Space Shuttle flying amongst cosmic stars. The 2011 season has something for families with little ones or families with kids that are grown up, getting lost amongst the stars together is a once in a lifetime Liberty Ridge & NASA experience.
