Liberty Ridge Farm is calling families, little wranglers and rustlers to the farm for an Old West Weekend from 1pm to 5pm Saturday and Sunday October 22nd & 23rd. Liberty Ridge Farm located in Schaghticoke, NY is home to the Capital District’s largest and original Corn Maze. Western Weekend kicks off with a festival of activities including face painting, balloon artistry, inflatable horse races, rope a steer, marshmallow gun shooting and the NASA Hubble Telescope Corn Maze. The farm will have cowboys & prospectors and even a chicken Sheriff deputizing each little wrangler and rustler. The farm will be serving up apple cider donuts, fall mums, pumpkins, corn stalks, apple cider slushies and a wide variety of foods and delights from the farm kitchen.

Liberty Ridge Farm is open Friday and Saturday 10am – 10pm, with the last Ticket Sold 9:30pm. Liberty Ridge Farm and NASA are working in the SpaceFarm7 collaboration to educate families and children on space exploration thru their out of this world corn maze design. The opportunity to “Get Lost” among the stars in the Hubble Telescope Adventure Maze is a once in a lifetime event. The maze is made of 2 phases, Phase 1 bring you out to the edge of space with twists and turns that take an estimate of approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the phase. Phase 2 of the corn maze will take maze goers deeper into outer space and have them navigating stars, galaxies and the Hubble Telescope as each maze goer attempts to complete their mission in under an hour. After maze goers complete the corn maze, an Old West celebration will have; pioneers, prospectors, cowboys, outlaws and saloon girls around the farm. Western Weekend will have face painting by Magic Brushes and balloon artistry, jokes and tricks from Farmer Bruce. The riding ring will host friendly competition for all ages that will include; inflatable miniature pony races, sack races and marshmallow gun shooting, panning for gold and much more.

Liberty Ridge Farm is an agricultural tourism destination and working farm on the historic Hoosic River. In the 12th Season Liberty Ridge Farm has been named the northeast representative for the NASA Space Farm7 special outreach program. The SpaceFarm7 pairs NASA and seven other agri-tourism destinations across the United States in a special outreach program aimed at educating children on space exploration thru their crop circle inspired mazes. Liberty Ridge Farm and Goddard Space Flight Center have been paired together to coordinate their leg of the outreach program and celebration. Liberty Ridge Farm is in the their 12th Season of coming up with new and exciting corn maze designs that capture hearts and minds in the Capital District. The 2011 Corn maze highlights achievements made during the 20 year NASA Hubble Space Telescope program, Liberty Ridge Farm proudly bears the name of “The Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze.” The Fall Festival began September 17th and runs to November 6th. Cowboys, Prospectors and a Chicken Cowboy Sheriff found in Upstate Corn Maze

Calling all little wranglers Liberty Ridge Farm steps back in time to the OLD West from 1pm to 5pm Saturday and Sunday October 22nd & 23rd in Schaghticoke, NY. Liberty Ridge Farm the Capital Districts largest and original Corn Maze celebrates Western Weekend with a festival of activities including Face painting, Balloon Artistry, Barrel Racing on Inflatable Horses, Rope a Steer challenge, Marshmallow Gun target practice and the Hubble Telescope Corn Maze. The farm will have Cowboys & Prospectors and even a Old West Sheriff deputizing each little wrangler. Freshly Made Apple Cider Donuts, Fall Mums, Pumpkins, Corn Stalks and Apple Cider Slushies and a wide variety of the farm chefs favorite delights and foods will be available.

The Hubble Space Telescope Corn Maze will amuse each family member as they get lost among the stars in the 11 acre maze dedicated to the 20 year successful NASA mission of the Hubble Telescope. The maze is made of Phase 1 and phase 2, phase 1 is a challenge that will have on th outer rim of space, you will be lost approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Phase 2 of the corn maze will take you deeper into outer space and have you navigating more stars and galaxies as you try to make is back to earth to complete your mission. After you complete the corn maze Old West will have – Pioneers, prospectors, cowboys, outlaws, saloon girls around the farm. Throughout the day there will be face painting by Magic Brushes and Farmer Bruce will be strolling the grounds with balloon artistry, tricks and jokes. In the riding ring the friendly competition will include a race around the barrel and hay bales on inflatable miniature ponies, a family favorite Sack races and sheriff’s deputy’s Marshmallow gun shooting range, and more. In a time when people risked it for the gold rush, each little wrangler can try to strike it rich as they Pan for Gold.
