A newly crowned Queen kicks off Pumpkin Festival Weekend

The annual Pumpkin Festival on October 15th & 16th will celebrate the newly crowned princess in a weekend pumpkin harvest celebration.  Starting at 1pm each day there will pumpkin painting with opportunities to paint your own pumpkin to purchase and take home, or games such as; the outlandish gourd toss or the delicious bobbing for donuts game that has festival goers competing to eat a donut as it dangles from a string. This is the Pumpkin Princess’ favorite weekend at Liberty Ridge Farm as she makes her annual rounds from the Pumpkin patch to share her grace with all who attend the farm, smiling and posing for photographs.

The amazing Pumpkin Cannon will be shot off every hour, launching pumpkins almost ½ mile away.  You can get in on the action this year with the all new Pumpkin Shooters and Corn Shooters that are located on the pumpkin cannon range.  In festival fashion the farm chef will be serving up delicious pumpkin delights and the farm will offer face painting by Magic Brushes and balloon artistry and jokes by Farmer Bruce.

A new midway style show of danger & excitement start each haunt night at 7pm.  Colleen the sideshow Queen and EvilDan are “Psychic Sideshow”  bringing you the Bread Stick of death as EvilDan risks life and nose when Colleen the Sideshow Queen uses him as target practice with a bullwhip that breaks the sound barrier.

Liberty Ridge Farm is an agricultural tourism destination and working farm on the historic Hoosic River.  In the 12th Season Liberty Ridge Farm has been named the northeast representative for the NASA SpaceFarm7 special outreach program. If you’re looking for pumpkins, a full day of adventure is in store for the whole family just 30 minutes away. If you live in Ballston Spa head down 67 into Schaghticoke if in Clifton Park head down 146 it’s so simple to get to Liberty Ridge Farm, the area’s best kept secret.

Ever wanted to go see pumpkin chunkin ? It so cool to see those amazing inventions that propel pumpkins over ½ mile. Liberty Ridge Farm has a Giant pumpkin canon and New this year we have the destruction zone with miniature pumpkin canons. Fall time has never been so fun, when you can watch a pumpkin launch over ½ mile or shoot some pumpkins down range on your own, the smell of fresh Apple Cider Donuts in the air.

When you think of the fall and things to do with your family or friends, Liberty Ridge Farm will have you entertained for an entire day of festival style fun. Well this year is a special year for sure for Liberty Ridge Farm.  With our 2011 Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze and our All New Jumping Pillow, the Albany Saratoga Capital District has only a 30 minute drive to share a farmtastic celebration during this harvest season.  Have you ever seen a Jumping Pillow ?  Odds are if your kids see it, they will want to jump again and again.  This special attraction has some added benefits to it, you as a parent can jump and enjoy this activity together with your child.  We hear belly laughs time and again as parents and child jump their ways into each others hearts.  Liberty Ridge Farm has some super celebrations planned for the 2011 Fall Season  check out our events calendar.
