Liberty Ridge Farm offers educational programming and provides a valuable resource to students and teachers with our on the farm educational adventures that meet NYS learning standards for Pre K-5th graders. An amazing upstate School Fall Fieldtrip on the farm includes:

  • The 2012 Pride in the USA Adventure Maze – challenge your student to navigate our 12 acre cornfield maze using our passport game where answering questions will help you through the twists and turns of the national bird the Bald Eagle.
  • Jumping Pillow – Experience this amazingly fun gigantic inflated pillow that educates on equal and opposite reactions. Jump on over and check it out!
  • Farm Animals- Learn the names of the animals, their breeds, and what they do for us on the farm. Our Animals include goats, chickens, horses, rabbits, peacocks, pigs, and more….
  • Brads Barnyard- Hosts over 20 age appropriate activities such as pedal carts, giant gerbil wheels, and an 80 foot underground slide. Students can exercise their body and mind while improving hand/eye coordination.
  • The Bee Barn- Explore the role of Bees, and the importance of pollination inside our observational bee colony.
  • Pumpkin Picking & Trolley Ride- Take a trolley ride on a scenic tour of the farm along the banks of the Hoosic River to the school pumpkin patch. Pick your favorite pumpkin to bring home.

Liberty Ridge Farm cultivates real-life experience of farm adventure and activities. Your group will enjoy three hours on the farm at $9.00 per camper, with no admission charge for staff. Picnic tables and shaded areas are available for everyone to enjoy their lunches. A farm fresh option is picking ½ pint of the freshest blueberries to take home for additional $2.

Have your campers bring a bagged lunch, or offer our farm lunch to your campers for an additional $5. The Farm Hand Lunch includes a hot dog, bag of chips, a bottle of water and our own freshly picked blueberries served family style. Lunch is served at the “Pitch Fork” (our outdoor kitchen) and at the time you specify when placing your order.

The Pitch Fork will be open on field trip days offering, beverages, individual Farm Hand lunches and snacks. New this year – Slushies! served in our Liberty Ridge Farm souvenir cup. A variety of flavors will be available strawberry, blueberry & apple cider.


Field Trips on the Farm!

Educational field trip adventures at Liberty Ridge Farm

Are you looking for the perfect field trip experience for your campers this summer? Look no further, the Capital Region’s premier agritourism destination is opening up registration to summer camp groups for a day of adventure on the farm. Campers will experience an adventure filled time navigating the Capital Region’s largest corn maze and engaging in Brad’s Barnyard activities, full of fun and learning.

Kids love the Jumping Pillow

There is great fun to be enjoyed by everyone this summer from campers to camp counselors there are so many activities that you are sure to return your campers to their parents at the end of the day bushed but bubbling with stories of great adventure!  Kids can enjoy our jumping pillow, the giant gerbil wheels, hill billy band and the silver mine chute.  
They can tire themselves out by racing each other on the seedling 500 race or for bigger kids the pumpkin vine 500.  When campers are done racing they can cool off by stopping by the refreshing misting tent.Looking for a challenging activity? Visit Fort Hunter and see how long it takes to find your way out of the maze!  Or see if you can rope and imaginary steer on Rop’in & Swing’in.  Once campers are done challenging themselves they can sit and relax watching Miss Moo’s Musical Review or take a little time playing in Li’l Farmville.

The Bee Barn at Liberty Ridge Farm

We have the Bee Barn which kids find to be an amazing delight watching the behavior of bees and farm animals all around that love to interact with the kids!

Not far from anywhere, Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke is the perfect place to grow imaginations.  Farm Adventures begin in mid July and will be offered every Wednesday through the beginning of September, exact dates to be determined.  Campers will enjoy three hours on the farm at $9.00 per camper, with no admission charge for staff.  Camp directors can offer their camp groups a real on the farm experience by offering the option to pick a ½ pint of the freshest blueberries to take home for an additional $2.

Campers can bring their own bagged lunch, or they can purchase our farm lunch for an additional $5. The Farm Hand Lunch includes a hot dog, bag of chips, a bottle of water and our own freshly picked blueberries, served family style. Lunch is served at the “Pitch Fork” (our outdoor kitchen).
