As the fair rolls out of Schaghticoke, a hidden treasure is kicking off their fall festival.

Jumping Pillow fall festival 2013The fall means It is harvest time in the Capital Region and Liberty Ridge Farm invites friends and families of all ages out to kick off their 14th season. The fall festival begins September 21st and continues to November 11th jam packed with carnival style fun, food, shows and days of face painting, balloon artistry, magic shows and a barnyard of farm inspired hands on activities.

Liberty Ridge Farm begins their 14 th year as they grow memories with 2013 maze goers as they try to navigate out of the Spookley the Square Pumpkin labyrinth. The farm has become the premier fall destination by providing a welcoming laid back style filled with farm-tastic activities such as; the Amazing Jumping Pillow, the 80 foot underground slide named the Silver Mine Chute and the Cow Train ride.

The farm has traditional farm games such as pumpkin checkers, pumpkin tether-ball, pumpkin bowling and pumpkin tic tac toe and they even have pumpkin shooters that fire small pumpkins and much more. The farm staff begins each day with crackling warm campfires conveniently placed where you can sit and relax as you warm the soul. Family Fun in the Capital Region

The corn maze is the Largest and one of the Original Corn mazes in the Upstate NY region.  The cornfield maze is cut from 13 foot tall corn that spans over 11 acres.  The maze has adventures of twists and turns that sometimes requires the use of our Passport game that has trivia clues that help you navigate your way out of the maze.

Help Wanted at The Capital Region’s Largest Haunted Attraction at Liberty Ridge Farm

Now in the 13th season of providing a fall fun place for families, we are upon hiring time once again for our fall farm season. We have positions for employment during our fall season and our haunt season.

We are conducting immediate interviews for our fall fun Seasonal Staff and our Haunting Actors.

The Harvest Haunted attraction is a place where your acting talent, improvisation ability and your inner haunt self can come out, all under the cloak of darkness. This year the Farm has 5 unique Haunted Attractions that offer a wide range of opportunities for the right people.  We pride ourselves on thrilling all who enter the farm after 7pm on Haunt Days. The biggest Haunted Attraction in the Capital Region is seeking talented actors for 2012 haunt season – PAID ACTING POSITIONS!!!!

Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke NY will be holding auditions for talented actors for their Harvest Haunt 2012 this Thursday 8/30 6pm-8pm
Liberty Ridge Farm is located at 29 Bevis Road Schaghticoke, NY 12154 – about 3 miles down the road from the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds.

We are looking for actors to fill the various roles in the haunt. If you can do more than jump out and say “Raaarghh,” then we have a role for you! The Haunted Attraction operates only in October.

Costuming will be provided. Makeup will be done by our professional makeup staff.

Blue berry pickers get paid by how much they pick (piecework) and they can earn as much as $10/hour. A newly crowned Queen kicks off Pumpkin Festival Weekend

The annual Pumpkin Festival on October 15th & 16th will celebrate the newly crowned princess in a weekend pumpkin harvest celebration.  Starting at 1pm each day there will pumpkin painting with opportunities to paint your own pumpkin to purchase and take home, or games such as; the outlandish gourd toss or the delicious bobbing for donuts game that has festival goers competing to eat a donut as it dangles from a string. This is the Pumpkin Princess’ favorite weekend at Liberty Ridge Farm as she makes her annual rounds from the Pumpkin patch to share her grace with all who attend the farm, smiling and posing for photographs.

The amazing Pumpkin Cannon will be shot off every hour, launching pumpkins almost ½ mile away.  You can get in on the action this year with the all new Pumpkin Shooters and Corn Shooters that are located on the pumpkin cannon range.  In festival fashion the farm chef will be serving up delicious pumpkin delights and the farm will offer face painting by Magic Brushes and balloon artistry and jokes by Farmer Bruce.

A new midway style show of danger & excitement start each haunt night at 7pm.  Colleen the sideshow Queen and EvilDan are “Psychic Sideshow”  bringing you the Bread Stick of death as EvilDan risks life and nose when Colleen the Sideshow Queen uses him as target practice with a bullwhip that breaks the sound barrier.

Liberty Ridge Farm is an agricultural tourism destination and working farm on the historic Hoosic River.  In the 12th Season Liberty Ridge Farm has been named the northeast representative for the NASA SpaceFarm7 special outreach program. The SpaceFarm7 pairs NASA and seven other agri-tourism destinations across the United States in a special outreach program aimed at educating children on space exploration.
